Duty Free in Madrid - 05/06/03 08:06 AM

Greetings to everyone.
Can anyone possibly advise which is the cheapest option for buying Drinks and cigarettes. Is it better getting them at the Airport or shop around in Madrid. Any advice appreciated. :o

It is my understanding that you can no longer purchase duty-free goods if traveling within the EU. Buying cigarettes will be the same in the airport or any tobacco shop if buying by the carton. Alcohol can be purchased both at the airport and in Madrid but the prices vary from shop to shop. There are threads on buying alcohol in Madrid if you care to do a search.

Sorry Madridman! confused " .....Please some one explain this to us....."
Arthur Scargill is very well remembered in England. A miners union boss in the 1980s who took on Margaret Thatcher - and unfortunately lost. Now on the fringes of politics.
