short wave radio - 12/22/01 06:20 PM

Hi,

I am planning to visit my girlfriend in Madrid in January and bought her a
short wave radio for her Christmas gift.
But now I am wondering if I should buy it there instead. I have try searching the internet for stores in Madrid selling short wave radios but haven't had any luck.
What I am looking for a short wave radio made by Grundig, particularly model YB300 but
any other model would do. If anyone can direct me to a web site in Madrid that sell Grundig radios or let me know about how much they cost there I would greatly appreciated.
The Grundig YB300 I bought here cost $80.00 US.
ps. I looked at "EL CORTES INGLES" web site already but no luck.
Thanks,
Jaime

I think you got a fair price on yours and I'd just go ahead and keep it although you could get the tax back if you buy it there (unless they make you show it upon departure). I paid a bit more for mine but it's a different model. They do sell them at the Corte Ingles if you decide to exchange yours. Since you already have it I'd just keep it, IMHO it's not worth fighting the crowds to save a few dollars (euros, pesetas, what have you). smile

There is a shopping centre at Arenal, 9 close to the Puerta del Sol. They are specialised on this kind of stuff and they certainly have better prices than El Corte Inglés.

As Nevado said, I don't know if it's worth they money you may save (maybe it's even more expensive here).
