We booked 5 tickets to Madrid from JFK - bought and paid for last January for our trip in July. This morning I get an email from Orbitz that they no long fly on Mondays. I called Orbitz, then followed up with the airline itself. As it turns out, as of May 25 they will no longer be operating any services between Spain and the US. We have been offered a refund. That's all well and good, but now we are in a lurch for decent airfare to Spain for our annual family trip.

Any tips on something reasonable would be great. We *had* tickets for $600pp, I don't want to pay $1600. I consider $800 average, so I had a good deal and don't anymore. Our child was bringing a friend this summer and this is a real bummer that the friend may be priced out of trip they had worked real hard to be able to pay for. Any leads would be awesome. Thanks!
