My favorite upscale B&B in Madrid is the Casa de Madrid. My opinion: Nothing finer in terms of accomodations, location, hospitality, services available and so on. They have a website for you to check out the type of place and are very prompt with replies to e-mail. Marta de Medina is a wonderful hostess, Maria and Renee will take care of meals and service. You will also meet interesting people in her salon. Walk to all old Madrid tourist things, only five minutes to Plaza Mayor and so forth.

In Madrid, as far as I am concerned, there is only one place to consider, and that is Hostal Adriano. ( www.adrianohostal.com )

I argee that the Adriano is a cut (or twelve) above the typical Madrid hostal.

And on occasion you will find all three of us (GoMadrid, epaulino4 and Mongo)at the Adriano at the same time !

Keep in mind there is no breakfast there.
